Our photogenic cycle tour and Cuba salesman is a longtime family friend who moved to PEI in 1971. He’s been with us since 2000, handles our PEI tours, is well travelled in Cuba and able to suggest and arrange your trip according to your requirements.

Maria Montpeller

Maria Montpeller

While Maria is our Spanish-speaking specialist for our Cuba products, she also provides a supporting hand for our Island tours. She moved to PEI from Cuba in 1996 and does a lot of the behind the scenes work. She lives in Charlottetown with her husband Gabino and son, Gabriel. Maria is from Artemisa, in the Pinar del Rio area of Cuba.

Kristen MacQueen

Kristen oversees the family’s businesses and resides most of the year in Havana, Cuba with her husband Abel. June/July usually sees her back in Charlottetown, however, providing assistance during high season and with the organization of our PEI tour programs.

Sam Stewart

Sam Stewart

“Brewed in the depths of the Mt Stewart marsh and tempered in the fires of Dromore, Samuel was placed upon the earth to shred. Spending dark nights in the forest and long days in the saddle, calloused and bloodied, he discovered his love of bikepacking. Wielding a Shimano Altus M-290 Samuel continues his quest, arm in arm with the MacQueen clan, to ride fast and loose.”

Dayan Gonzalez Nuñez

Dayan Gonzalez Nuñez

Tour Leader, Bicycle Technician, our “secret weapon” (Danny’s term!) is a young Cuban who’s been working with us since 2015 in our PEI bike shop and as a tour leader with us in Cuba. Dayan graduated from law school in Havana, married an Island girl who was also studying in Havana, and moved north. Now if he’s anything like us, then we bet he feels pretty lucky to be able to travel and work between our two favorite islands. He’s a chef and speaks great English too.

Ahmon Katz

Ahmon Katz

Ahmon is an individual with the unique ability to fuse two great passions into something the whole world can enjoy.  Beginning with Fire Ant parade bikes, as an artist Ahmon has developed a niche in blending kinetic metal sculpting with used bike parts.  You can experience his masterpieces at various public locations on the Island.

Ryan Van Kroonenburg

Ryan Van Kroonenburg

Ryan began working in a bike shop to support his riding habit when he was just 16 years old.  Years later he is experienced and well-versed in all types of cycling.  A former short-track mountain bike champion and unicycle addict, Ryan is excited to talk about all things cycling and the amazing lifestyle it affords.

After retiring from competitive cycling she married Danny MacQueen and they spend their summers in Canada and winters in Cuba. On PEI Mirley handles all of our bicycle rental reservations, Confederation Trail Shuttle bookings, and is designated to deliver luggage transfer services for our independent supported PEI cycle tourists.
