Mirley, a former member of Cuba’s national women’s cycling team, is an accomplished competitive rider with multiple medals under her belt in international competitions. After retiring from competitive cycling she married Danny MacQueen and they spend their summers in Canada and winters in Cuba. On PEI Mirley handles all of our bicycle rental reservations, Confederation Trail Shuttle bookings, and is designated to deliver luggage transfer services for our independent supported PEI cycle tourists. You’ll often find her cruising eastern PEI’s roads in the summer with her three daughters in tow; who are also enthusiastic cyclists and enjoy the opportunity to explore PEI’s backroads and beaches along with their Mom.
Ride & Row Indoor Cycling & Rowing Studio owner, MacQueen’s Properties Manager. Worked as a legal secretary, studied Spanish at the University of Havana & UPEI, made it through salsa lessons without injury, went on a lot of bicycle tours of Cuba as a co-tour leader, led an Art & Architecture Tour in Cuba, operates her own fitness studio
works as a customer service rep with Westjet (likes the travel benefits), and is Mom to 3 lovely girls.
Trip Organizer, Tour Leader, Bicycle Technician, our “secret weapon” (Danny’s term!) is a young Cuban who’s been working with us since 2015 in PEI and Cuba. Dayan graduated from law school in Havana, married an Island girl who was also studying in Havana, and moved north. Now if he’s anything like us, then we bet he feels pretty lucky to be able to travel and work between our two favorite islands. He’s a chef and speaks great English too.
Ryan began working in a bike shop to support his riding habit when he was just 16 years old. Years later he is experienced and well-versed in all types of cycling. A former short-track mountain bike champion and unicycle addict, Ryan is excited to talk about all things cycling and the amazing lifestyle it affords.
