Accommodation Billing: While our preliminary proposals include accommodation pricing and we include the service of confirming proposed lodging services on your behalf, note that accommodations will be billed separately by our accommodation partners. In your Pre-Quotation and upon booking, the amount due to MacQueen’s will be prorated to reflect separation of the accommodation elements of your total trip cost from the remaining tour services payable to MacQueen’s. More details below.

Accommodation Payments: the total accommodation costs are deducted from the final amount due to MacQueen’s in Stage 2 of our booking process and in Stage 3 of our booking process, accommodations are guaranteed directly to the primary traveler’s credit card. Since the deposit/final payment and cancellation policies of the multiple accommodation providers we work with vary considerably, the accommodation payment schedules and cancellation policies will be detailed in each individual accommodation tab of your itinerary, and the total tour price will reflect the separate amount due to MacQueen’s for the balance of tour services. Many properties work with local payments, offering the possibility to present final payment locally upon check-in (convenient for groups where travelers prefer to pay individually for assigned room categories etc).

Accommodation Cancellation Policies/Procedure: Accommodation bookings are tied directly to the primary traveler’s name, email & credit card as verification sources. Since confirmed accommodation bookings are guaranteed directly to the primary traveler’s credit card, the primary traveler may cancel their accommodation bookings directly with the accommodation venues at any time if, in the event of a cancellation, recovering any residual value is still an option. For any posterior cancellation events, travelers are responsible for notifying properties in writing (or by other verifiable means) of their intention to cancel lodging, and those contracts/arrangements are handled directly between travelers & accommodation providers. The exception may be the occasional booking that MacQueen’s makes on behalf of guests using an OTA such as Expedia, in which case travelers must email info@macqueens.com with their specific cancellation request if/when they need our intervention to cancel an accommodation booking on their behalf. It’s recommended to verify reception of that request, especially if sent outside of business hours, on holidays/weekends, or during peak demand times, to ensure timely action is taken on behalf of travelers.

Deposit & Final Payment for MacQueen’s Island Tours PEI cycle tour services:

  • Tours fewer than 5 nights: 50% deposit of MacQueen’s services on booking.
  • Tours of 5+ nights: A nonrefundable deposit of $500 CAD per person is required upon booking. Pre-Quotation fees are applicable towards the itinerary’s booking deposit. Full payment of the tour balance must be received in our PEI office at least 30 days prior to Day 1 of your tour.

Payment Options:

Visa or MasterCard processed in Canadian dollars. One credit card per invoice, where the credit cardholder is also the primary traveler participating in all services.

Group Travel:

For groups who prefer to travel together, but negotiate separate payments for their travel packages, individual trip proposals & invoices are prepared to reflect the higher administrative costs of individual packages, and where subsequent modifications/additions/subtractions of any individual travelers’ services will not affect the other travellers’ invoices.

MacQueen’s Island Tours is pleased to quote for multiple travelers sharing an itinerary, where fixed costs are divided equally amongst those travelers. Note that in exchange for the reduction in overall administrative fee group costs, the group must designate a single organizer to be responsible for correspondence and all payments for services. Multiple credit cards are not accepted for this option. It’s worth noting that any local on-site hotel payments on check-in/check-out should have flexibility for individual room payments.

Cancellation Policy for MacQueen’s Island Tours PEI cycle tour services:

  • Pre-Quotation and Booking deposits payable to MacQueen’s Island Tours are nonrefundable.
  • 100% forfeiture of tour price + HST – when written notification of cancellation is received fewer than 30 days prior to tour start

Banking Fees:

  • Processing fees may apply to credit card refunds or cross-border transactions processed by accommodation providers.

MacQueen’s Island Tours does not sell travel cancellation or medical insurance.
